The Radio 1 Weekend is usually held on the first week of August every year (* Please note this hasn’t been confirmed for 2015 yet) and for the past few years has comprised of two very special and unique parties. On the Friday BBC have in the past held a free party at Ushuaia Ibiza. On the Saturday it gets even more crazy with a sell-out collaboration with Cream Ibiza at Privilege – this party holds over 10,000 people!
The BBC Radio 1 Weekend Ibiza 2015 will be busy and is the most expensive time to visit Ibiza, but there’s a good reason for this. This is the week that all of the promoters put on the best DJs, every club, party and bar is full with an amazing atmosphere. This is when Ibiza truly is at it’s peak and is something to get involved in.
Well all you have to do is take a slow walk down memory lane to the events of last year’s big BBC Radio 1 Weekend Ibiza blowout where crowds flocked in their thousands just to see their favourite international DJ’s perform on the grand stages of Ushuaia and Privilege, some people didn’t even have tickets and just risked their chances at getting one when they arrived!
With the knowledge settled in that Cream and BBCR1 would team up to take over the world’s largest club in Privilege, the weekend was already set to be a sell-out. However firstly, the BBC Radio 1 Weekend Ibiza extravaganza took control of Ushuaia on the Friday. With a taster of what to expect this year, last season saw David Guetta headline in fanatic style as he was supported by Radio 1 veterans Annie Mac and Pete Tong who delivered a performance only like they could. Names like Hot Since 82 and MK also made Friday a very special night.
The following night at Privilege for Cream was no different and certainly lived up to expectations. With a superstar billing of underrated talent ready to blow the roof off of the Ibiza palace, the Cream army was ready. The likes of Oliver Dollar, Secondcity and Huxley all ensured revellers were more than satisfied with the music on display.
Set to be bigger than ever in 2015, BBC Radio 1 Weekend Ibiza 2015 celebrates it’s 20th year of existence.
The dates for the 2015 weekend haven’t been confirmed yet, but historically it’s been the first weekend of August. We recommend waiting a few weeks for the official confirmation from the BBC before booking anything.
Tickets for this party will be available online a few weeks before the party from the Radio 1 website. We’ll announce when and how to get tickets closer to the time. But rest assured, you can also pick up a wristband from a variety of locations on the morning of the party.
